We offer specialised puppy training for dogs aged between 10 weeks and 4 months. Those puppies aged between 8-12 weeks must have Vets recommendation to start socialisation at this early age. Handlers and puppies work towards the Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation (please note that the Kennel Club recognise dogs up to 12 months old for this award).
Each handler will receive as part of this course a "puppy pack" including an e-booklet "A Guide to Dog Training and Responsible Ownership" written by Chris & Dave Deakin and Anne Herbert...
Puppy Parties at Veterinary Practices by arrangement. Please either call or email us for more details.
We pride ourselves on providing a happy, safe, friendly environment to train your dog. (training should be fun!)
Basic Skills is a specialised course for rehomed dogs or older dogs who haven’t done any training before. Some of the dogs have behavioural difficulties but can still attend a class situation for guidance. Class size is small and all exercises are on lead. The aim of the course is to provide the handler with basic skills and knowledge in how to start training their canine companion. Emphasis is placed on the ability of the handler to control, care for and be aware of responsible dog ownership.
In November 2001, we were awarded "Listed Status" by the Kennel Club to run the Good Citizen Dog Scheme. This is a nationally recognised scheme offering four levels of awards Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level involves a gradual development in the understanding and behaviour of our dogs.
The scheme is aimed specifically at pet dogs be they cross breed, pedigree, young or old, and aims to promote well behaved dogs with responsible owners. The scheme is non-competitive and on successful completion of each of the assessments, participants will be awarded a Kennel Club certificate to mark their achievement.
